TLDR: File was sent that looks like a pdf but in reality a .scr file, (that is also considered as an .exe file) An executable file that contains malicious codes, that can steal your credentials Usual targets: Admins, Server owners, developers, ARTISTS In our context, basically everyone Key takeaways. How to mitigate the risk

  1. Never open suspicious files (Along with suspicious links, anywhere in discord, including mine) Suspicious files include: .scr, .bat, .exe , .zip, .rar, . pdf, .iso , .img if it came from an unknown source.

  2. To check the authenticity Upload the file in google drive and preview or use a virtual machine.

  3. Always check the file type before opening. (Right click file, select properties)

  4. Small plug but totally helpful (follow ) for best practices.
